Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Barely Wishlist processes, why we process it, and what choices you have when you use the app.

Last updated: April 8, 2026

Overview

Barely Wishlist is a wishlist app that lets you create lists, add items, upload or import item images, and optionally share public wishlists by link. This policy applies to the Barely Wishlist website and app experience.

Information we collect

  • Account and authentication data. We use Clerk to authenticate users. Clerk may process information you provide to it, such as your email address and sign-in credentials, under Clerk's own terms and privacy practices. Within Barely Wishlist, we use your Clerk account identifier to associate your wishlists with your account.
  • Wishlist content. We store the wishlist and item information you create in the app, including titles, descriptions, visibility settings, prices, product links, and related timestamps.
  • Images. If you upload an item image or import one from a product link, we store the processed image in our Supabase storage bucket so it can be displayed in the app.
  • Public sharing data. If you mark a wishlist as public, the wishlist and its items can be viewed by anyone with the public link.
  • Technical data. Like most web services, our infrastructure and service providers may process basic technical metadata such as IP address, browser information, request metadata, and logs needed to operate, secure, and debug the service.

How we use information

  • Provide and maintain your account and wishlist data.
  • Store, display, and organize the wishlist content and images you choose to add.
  • Generate item previews when you ask the app to fetch metadata from a product or item URL.
  • Enable public sharing for wishlists you choose to make public.
  • Detect abuse, enforce our terms, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability.

Link previews and imported images

When you submit a product or item URL, Barely Wishlist may make a server-side request to that third-party page to extract metadata such as the page title, description, and preview image. If you use imported images, we may download, resize, and store a copy for display inside your wishlist.

Cookies and similar technologies

Barely Wishlist uses technologies needed to keep the app working, including authentication and session management provided through Clerk. We do not use the app to serve targeted ads or sell personal information.

How we share information

  • With service providers that help us operate the app, including authentication, storage, database, and hosting providers.
  • With other people when you intentionally share a public wishlist link.
  • When required to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect rights and safety.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of some or all assets.

Data retention

We keep account-linked wishlist data for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete content, make a wishlist private, or close your account, data may remain in backups or operational logs for a limited period before being removed in the ordinary course.

Your choices

  • You can edit or delete your wishlists and wishlist items inside the app.
  • You can choose whether a wishlist is private or public.
  • If you no longer want us to process your account-linked data, you can stop using the service and request account deletion through the contact details made available with the service.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information processed through Barely Wishlist. No internet service or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

Barely Wishlist is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the app.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version here and change the "Last updated" date above.
